This is a SINGLE ORIGIN coffee.
We bring you this terrific coffee from Finca La Rosalai in the Tres Rios region, and the Castra family - exceptional coffee farmers for over 100 years.
This is a top notch, honey process coffee (go see our Coffee College to get more info on the honey process) that has this wonderful coffee sweetness that is enhanced by the beans own sugar content and developed further by the honey process. The coffee plants are growing in volcanic soils.
We get this one from a friend of the farmer and this ensures the farmer gets top dollar for their coffee. This is grown at high elevation (1400-1600m) using sustainable practices with living wages paid to the workers.
This coffee has a cupping score of 85-86. There is a boost of sweetness and range of flavours from chocolate, roasted almonds, raspberry and some mild tropical fruit. Full bright and balanced cup, with a pleasant and long finish.
FLAVOUR: Nice chocolate taste, roasted almonds, raspberry and tropical fruit. Good medium to full body, very clean mouthful, a long and lingering finish.
